Animatronic Tail (Version 4.0)

Animatronic Tail Information

Major changes from version 3.0 to version 4.0 are the upgrade from the version 2.0 tail controller to the mini tail servo controller.  Upgrade from alkaline batteries to 6 volt 2000mAh NiMh rechargeable battery. Structural upgrade from 18AWG to 14AWG galvanized steel wire, using lead free solder. Epoxy is now used to hold all the tail spine spanners from slipping. A more flexible spandex inner tail lining.

This 2 axis animatronic tail is controlled by 5 buttons which are easily concealed see Mini tail servo controller for info on what the buttons do.

With a 6 volt 2000mAH rechargeable NiMH battery, the tail will get 4 - 8 hour run time on one charge (depends on tail mode).

The tail weighs approximately 1.5 pounds with battery, shipping weight is 3 pounds.

18, 16, 14 and 12 AWG galvanized wire used in the construction of tail housings, it is soldered with lead free solder, which is much stronger then leaded solder.

Tail actuator module and spine is powered by two Hitec HS-5645MG Servos.

The tail is worn via a belt. The belt is connected to the tail though a belt loop. The belt loop is split to engage the single belt loop on the back of a pair of pants, this keeps the tail from sliding back and forth along the belt when it wags.
